Bikey - Smart & Secured Bike Parking

In recent years, urban cycling has become increasingly popular and also more feasible, due to the development of urban mobility infrastructure (dedicated bicycle lanes). This trend has gained traction in major cities and there is every chance that it will continue to accelerate in the coming years. Although essential, bicycle lanes are not the only essential aspect of urban mobility. Another factor is represented by secure bicycle parking, also known as “bike shelters”, “bicycle secured containers”. Lack of such bike shelters discourages the use of the bicycle in everyday life, cyclists being forced to keep their bicycles inside the apartment, often upstairs in old blocks of flats or without an elevator.

Our vision is to create accessible, compact and easy-to-manage bicycle shelters that can be placed near every block, institution or company, thus encouraging this clean means of transport.

Our solution consists of 2 components:

  1. Secure containers equipped with bicycle racks and;
  2. Mobile/web access management application

The bicycle shelters we offer can be customized to best meet the customer’s requirements and be adapted to the location where they will be mounted. All our shelters have the following qualities:

Having the bike shelter in place, another essential aspect is access management. In our view, the most secure and easy to manage way is through the mobile phone. The mobile phone is seen as a “personal” object, which makes it much less transferable than a key or an electromagnetic card, not to mention the superior security of the electrical system compared to a purely mechanical locking system.

To this end, we have developed an application to facilitate access and management of parking units. It’s key features are:

  • Adding / Removing users remotely
  • Access history
  • Provide One-time access to visitors
  • In app payment (if the shelter admin decides that the service is paid)

Technical Details - standard Unit

  • Size (L x W x H, mm): 5000 x 2000 x 2350
  • Capacity: 10 bikes (can be extended to 20 bikes by using a two-tier bicycle parking system)
  • Construction: Steel tubes, Steel wire mesh panels
  • Power supply: Requires grid connection (solar panels option also available)

Custom Options

  • Dimensiunea, forma si capacitatea pot fi ajustate în funcție de preferințele clientului
  • Panourile de sârmă pot fi înlocuite cu panouri de policarbonat sau cu panouri de tablă perforată

  • Ușile culisante pot fi înlocuite cu uși batante (sau un mix de uși batante și glisante pentru parcarile mai mari)
